The Saint Nicholas Project

How The Saint Nicholas Project Works

The Saint Nicholas Project is patterned after the original Saint Nicholas.  Out of a desire to give from what he had, to help those less fortunate than himself, Nicholas chose individuals with a true need, and gave them an anonymous gift to meet that need.  This was patterned after Jesus Christ, the true origin of Christmas, and the giving of gifts.  Jesus Christ gave Himself as a gift to us, and died so that we could have an eternal relationship with Him.  This gift, the greatest gift ever given, was the inspiration for Saint Nicholas.  This is the inspiration for the Saint Nicholas Project.

In order to be a part of The Saint Nicholas Project, any individual can simply give an anonymous gift to someone that meets a specific need.  If you wish to be a part, pay attention to those around you.  Look for people who have specific needs.  It can be food, a washer, a stove, or a winter coat.  It must be an actual need, not a want, wish, or desire.  Playstations, flat screen TV's, and DVD's do not count as needs.  These gifts cannot be given to those who can buy it for themselves.  The gift cannot be something that you already have.  You cannot give them your washer, and then go out and buy yourself a new one.  That is for your benefit, your own gain.  The gift must actually cost you something.  Most important, you cannot give the gift in any way that will result in you being recognized for having given the gift.  Leave the gift in secret.  Be creative.

When you give the gift, you must include with the gift the flier attached here:

Recipient's Flier

In order for a gift to be part of the Saint Nicholas Project it must follow three rules:

1. It must be a gift that costs the giver something.
2. It must meet a specific need of the receiver.
3. It must be anonymous.
