Was Saint Nicholas Real?
There are some who say that Saint Nicholas exists only in legend and wife’s tales. Most legends have their origin in truth, but have been embellished over the years, when passed on from person to person. That is why there are often different versions of the same story. The story of Saint Nicholas has in it known facts, as well as elements that cannot be documented. Some of the stories seem to be more myth than truth. There does seem to be at the base of all the stories a real man, who did many wonderful and generous things for the needy. These stories point to a man who’s character was founded in his belief in the true meaning of Christmas.
